SHH... QUIET... CLOSE THE DOOR... KEEP THE LIGHTS DIM.
Welcome to SHH CHURCH. There are two reasons for this meeting:
- To know God's Word more intimately. Most of the time together will be spent searching Scripture to uncover timeless truths that are in this wonderful living book.
- We want to identify with our brothers and sisters in Christ who are persecuted around the world.
Right now there are nearly 200 million Christ-followers worldwide who do not have basic human rights. That means they cannot have a gathering like we do in public places to study God's Word. In almost all cases they would be harassed. In many cases they would be arrested. In some cases they would be imprisoned, tortured or killed.
Today it is estimated that there are 70 million Christ-followers in prison worldwide. They take their faith and their God very seriously. They are willing to sacrifice work, family, even their lives if necessary. And they are members of the same Church that we are. They are not asking for our pity. In fact, persecution has built their faith in ways we can hardly imagine. If anything, let us be inspired to know God more fully and His Word more deeply than before.
Many around the world gather for worship under the cover of darkness, quietly in secret. They often meet for long hours because it is quite dangerous to be in a large group with other Christ-followers adn they want to grab their opportunity to be together. Imagine for a moment if you are in church and you and your families lives are in danger and you could be put in prision or tortured or killed. Our brothers and sisters, Christ-followers, around the world do not give in to fear...instead they come together joyfully to praise God and thank Him for His grace and mercy.
When we meet at SHH CHURCH, we will have some time to pray for the persecuted brothers and sisters. Each meeting we will focus on different areas of the world where Christ-followers suffer because of their faith.
Prayer: God, may we know Your Word more fully. May Your watchcare be with our brothers and sisters in Christ around the world who even now meet, pray, and study in secret. Amen

Friday February 4th - yes - we will complete the "Survey of the Old Testament" and start "A Survey of the New Testament"
(be sure to bring your notebooks from the last session)
Friday March 4th - yes - we will do what we planned to do on Feb. 4th which was cancelled due to ice/snow weather.
Friday April 1st - yes - we will do the first two sessions on the New Testament and the last session on the Old Testament
Friday August 12th - tentative

Program Notes:
Bottled water only is allowed in the worship room. Please do not bring food or other types of beverages into the worship room. Beverages and snacks will be provided in the fellowship hall for attendees during break times. (January 14th we will be providing complimentary "free" drinks and snack during the break...1 drink & 1 snack each break).
Not to distract from the study, please turn off all cell phones and pagers to the "silent" or "off" position while in the worship room. If you must use your phone during the evening, please go all the way out into the lobby before calling or texting or emailing.
You will need to bring your Bible and pen. If you don't have a bible and/or pen, please let us know and we will get you one. Go to the lobby welcome desk for these.
Voice Interpreters will be available during all sessions.
No Child-Care is provided during SHHH CHURCH due to the length of the program.
Program Cost:
$10 per person ($5 will cover cost for notebook/paper and $5 will go towards donation towards a mission organization that supports persecuted Christians). More information about donations will be explained during the program session.
